Terry Slack hails from the northeast. He was born on January 1, 1960 in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania. He has a twin brother. His family moved to Clermont, Florida (near Orlando) when he was twelve. Terry was brought to the Lord by his girlfriend, the former Beverly Love, whose father, Vernon, is a gospel preacher. Terry and Beverly just celebrated their 29th wedding anniversary in February.

Brother Slack worked for Publix Supermarkets until he was 26. During part of that time, he labored in a preacher-training arrangement with the Par Street church in Orlando. In 1986, he retired from the grocery business to begin preaching with the Woodland Hills congregation in Marion, Indiana. He worked with them for twelve years before moving to the Northwest church in Arlington, Texas, where he has preached for the last ten years.

Terry and Beverly have two daughters, Alicia Miller and Amanda O’Banion, who both live in Arlington. Their first grandchild, Kayden Miller, was born in August of 2007. Brother Slack writes regularly for Biblical Insights and is in high demand for gospel meetings across the country. We feel fortunate to have his appealing style and humble demeanor for the very first time on the Southside Lectures.
